Why did you create Inherited Stories®?
I want families to have the option of remembering the people they love.

My grandma died before we could interview her about her journey and it’s been a personal pain of mine for years. She was my hero. Now I can’t remember her laugh or her voice, and that makes me sad.

I also enjoy talking with people on a personal level. I missed getting the chance to do so regularly and thought that by creating a purposeful space to learn about others, it would allow people to reflect and appreciate their own life.

Everyone has such a unique journey and I realized no one could share their journey better than them. I’m also a believer in face-to-face, one-to-one conversations. There’s a special energy — a spark — we get from being genuinely curious, as well as a sense of emotional warmth and togetherness that come from this work.

What is your vision for Inherited Stories?
I want every family to consider making a legacy documentary for the people they love while they can. Our life stories are the one thing we each have that can only be passed down from us to our families. That makes them priceless.

My vision for Inherited Stories is for us to become synonymous with providing transparent, integrity-driven customer service, producing outstanding visual storytelling, and promoting a culture of empathy, kindness and appreciation. I believe in setting an intentional goal of serving others with authentic care. I want people to feel valued, cared for and listened to.

Where is your favorite place to travel?
I’m a HUGE fan of the hot springs in Morioka, Japan! There’s nothing like waking up to watch a sunrise in the mountains as you sit and relax under a warm blanket of water. Shout out to my favorite staff at Hotel Mori No Kaze Oshuku!
